YARRA STATE FOREST

MELWAY: 33 F1

Park, Dogs On-Lead

Located 80km east of Melbourne, the Yarra State Forest features some fantastic forest walks and trails. There are also picnic and camping areas, lookouts and general amenities.
There are plenty of short day walks you can take, or if you’re feeling adventurous, there’s even several multi-day walks retracing the steps of some of the area’s early pioneers!
The Ada Tree Circuit through the Island Creek Rainforest is an easy 3.6km walk that takes around 1.5 hours. This great walk gives you an opportunity to visit the Ada Tree, one of the largest known flowering trees in the world! The Ada tree is an ancient Mountain Ash, estimated to be over 300 years old, it stands nearly 70m tall and has a circumference of 15m!
The walk begins at the car park and picnic area and follows Island Creek to the spectacular Ada Tree.

The Yarra Ranges is a beautiful area to explore with family and friends. Best of all, dogs are welcome in the state forest (not to be confused with the National Park where dogs are not permitted), but must be kept under direct control at all times and on a lead in picnic and camping areas and when near other visitors. Your Queries Answered!

Q. I was wondering why you put coconut in 4Legs, is it good for dogs?
P. Payne, Wantirna, VIC

4Legs Dog Food
A. Yes, coconut is great for dogs! We add it to our products because it is rich in digestible oils and contains plenty of fibre, which helps to cleanse the digestive system. Coconut also promotes a great healthy and shiny coat on your dog.

You can find out more about 4Legs products and pet nutrition by visiting the Dog Food page at the 4Legs website. If you have any other queries you would like answered, email us at contact@4legs.com.au or go to the contact us page at the 4Legs website.

Star Gazing with Basil

Star Gazing Basil

This month, Basil the doggy surfing guru, looks into his crystal ball to discover the meaning of your dog’s horoscope!

Pisces (February 20 – March 20)

The Pisces dog loves nothing more than a walk along the beach or down by a river. He is a water dog who will splash in every puddle and relish a walk in the rain. The Pisces dog is loyal and friendly and although they often have huge bursts of energy, they are equally happy having a snooze and just hanging out with their best friend – you! Aires (March 21 – April 19)

The energetic Aries dog has boundless enthusiasm, she loves to play, run, chase and go for walks. An Aries dog can’t be left alone inside all day, as she will quickly become bored and possibly destructive! The fun-loving Aries dog is the eternal puppy, never wanting to grow up! These warm-hearted and happy-go-lucky dogs make friends wherever they go! Source:www.novareinna.com/constellation/dog.htm
